So awesomesauce. I suspect computer fixage is a matter of days away! Yays!
Happy Birthday to me! (it's tommorow actually but feh).
Happy Christmas, New Years and all that jazz.
it's just a noisy hall, where there's a nightly brawl...

Ch-ch-ch-ch changes
I've been struggling quite a bit with the first half of the story. I must have looked at those chaptes a hundred times, constantly revising, rearranging.
They weren't working, and I kept telling my characters "for goodness sake, just make it work! What is wrong with you?"
Which is wrong, isn't it?
I'm not in charge, they are, it's their story.
Today I realised what was wrong; the reason they weren't working is that the first half wasn't relevent to the story I'm trying to tell, they're relevant to the story I was telling two, maybe three years ago.
I've grown a lot in that time, and so has Nathan. He's gone from my alter ego to a fully fleged character on his own, with flaws and quirks and feelings that do not come from me.
So, there will be no Part 1-Interlude-Part 2 once I get my computer back. I'm not sure exactly what the format will be, but I'll keep you posted.
Peace out.

News of the Ugly Kind
"Not until the holidays,"
Gack.
Other news: I have archived shut down the Soapbox, my political blog, and opened a new one which will incorporate both my political musings, and my real life stuff: http://www.tk-minutae.blogspot.com/
So, after this post, everything on this blog will be strictly Storymaking based.
But, I'd already written the beginnings of a personal post for today.
So:
Today was a good day. I bought a shirt and some moustaches (to wear), socks and a penguin (to give) and a cherry and almond muffin (to share). I talked with someone. I laughed with someone. I got asked whether or not I had accepted Jesus Christ with someone. Unfortunately my bus came before I could tell them I was a Satanist in order to see their faces.
Gack.

Minutae
Hmmm... this seems to have become a blog on life in general in the absence of Tesseract related news.
Am considering merging it with my other, more anonymous blog. My interpretation of political events has got to be more interesting than gushing about Baileys and Brussel Sprouts, right? Then again, that would conflict with my obsessive desire to compartmentalise.
We shall see.
However, since I'm generally life-blogging:
Life is, to quote a friend of mine, "shitfuckhappysadgoodness,"
Everything is very intense. The past year I've been living within such a limited emotional range. Very detatched, hormones, like my PC, out of commission.
November is always a challenging month for me.
Stuff is happening very quickly. Maybe it's because I got new glasses, everything becomes sharper and more violent.
Not that I'm complaining. Except for about the bad stuff.
So what's better? All controlled and managed and dull, or intense and overwhelming and gloriously, chaotically painful. I am interested in your thoughts. Drop me an email perhaps. Or don't. Whatever.
I may have to start writing poetry again. THAT is how seriously weird my life is getting.
I love you all. Seriously, if you've managed to read my ramblings for this long I love you. As Valerie said,

Buh
Am intending to badger Computer-Repair-Parent today. Wish me luck folks.
Life is interesting people. This summer's bad stuff has turned into okayness, while a whole new layer of bad stuff has emerged, while a certain something has happened which spreads a thick layer of gooey goodstuff over the whole mess that is My Life.
If you don't know me IRL you will not understand anything that I just talked about up there.
If you do know me IRL you will understand around three quarters of waht I just wrote up there.
Tesseract is kinda on the back burner of my mind, but is still simmering away (geddit? SIMering. Shut up. It's early in the morning).
Well, I'm off to buy underwear.

Story fermentation...
Ok, so everyone's been great about stuff while my computer's been MIA, so once again a big thank you to all.
This story has been in my head for years now, so its already quite layered, but the lack of sims time has driven my imagination into overdrive. Seriously, I have started talking to my characters at times. This is not good.
Some of them are, however, fascinating conversationalists.
Anyway, since you guys have been such troopers for me, I'm going to give everyone some random trivia, both story background and in terms of storymaking. Think of it as a teaser/peace offering.
Ahem. 10 fun facts about a the Tesseract universe.

Ahem. 10 fun facts about a the Tesseract universe.
- The character Melanie is Scottish because the sim which represents her began life as my version of David Tennant aka Doctor Who. Originally, Melanie's looks were to be based on a Colombian/Italian friend of mine, but I couldn't get it to look right, so I simply genderswitched David and made some cosmetic changes, namely skin, eyes and slight facial resculpting.
- Tesseract was originally going to be called 'Resistance' and was to be the story of Nathan's mother Diana, starting from September 2001 and ending when she left her husband and son.
- Tesseract starts circa 2024. Between 2016-2024 the majority of military conflicts in the world were resolved. No new conflicts have arisen during this time.
- Nathan's mother grew up in Dublin, Ireland and suffered from manic depression.
- Only one of the characters on the character page has parents who have never split up.
- David's sim is a clone of a born in game sim called Sebastian, who's father happens to be my self-sim.
- Before leaving her husband and son, Diana Keene transferred all the money from her personal account into the joint account she held with her husband.
- In the Tesseract universe, Texas has seceded from the USA and formed a separate nation.
- David Keene makes pancakes when stressed, much like me.
- Melanie Page has 2 half siblings who she doesn't know about.

Halloweeeeeeeeen!
Happy Halloween for for tommorow people. Have been going around visiting various forums I frequented about five years ago while I should have been doing essays. Damn. The internet has CHANGED peoples.
Random bit of trivia. The internet is a quater of a century old. This is a long time!
Computer-Repair-Parent is working. I will nag about getting computer back, but we might be looking at Christmas before this happens.
/sigh.
In other news... life is mega-hectic, and this holiday has gone far too quickly. However, I have a renewed love of this city.
Why are the Christmas decorations put up in October? Who knows. I love this time of year though.
Christmas Cake might not happen, :( but there is mint chocolate Bailey's in the house so all is well.
Have discovered a strange (but not unpleasent) addiction to Cream's 'Tales of Brave Ulysses', which has been playing on a loop pretty constantly in my head for the past 48 hours.
Am missing Sims and ITunes. Global warming = nice weather these days.
Off to do essays.
